Your message made me smile — thank you ❤️ You're definitely not the last dinosaur… if anything, you're part of the quiet resistance that still values authenticity in a world of trends. Let’s keep holding the line together 🦖✨

Absolutely adore this article! Thank you for typing it. As a person of similar age, your writing has given me hope that all is not lost. The world of influencers can be rather depressing, monotoned and lacking in meaning. (And the rather maddening thing is, they seem to think they're being original!?) ♥️♥️♥️

I think authenticity, honesty, and nuance are what we’re all quietly craving. I’m really glad the piece brought you a little hope. That makes it all worth it. ♥️

I think you're right, authenticity, honesty and nuance are what we all crave. It is all very sad. I do pity the tik tok generation. I hope things change for the better. ♥️

Fightin' the storm, into the blue

Yes!! Did you watch the Netflix series Kaulitz&Kaulitz? I couldn't get through it because it was so cringey, so Tokio Hotel will remain this band my 15y/o emo heart loved so very much haha.

I thought I was an Autumn season color, but I was recently typed as a Winter. Jewel toned, true color, bright Winter. It's been a shift going from muted, soft tones to "throw on every bright color out there and you'll look fab!" My wardrobe and style are completely changing.

What's wild to me is, when I was at the peak of my fashion experience (2004-2012, 17-25yrs old), my style was black, white, and red, with silver and the occasional other bright color. Trendy, but not over the top. Very stylish. I looked good and felt good. But then I got married and I suddenly had no money for fun things like clothes (we were very poor). My style left me and I floundered for years. I switched to gold and muted tones and I got rid of all the shiny, glitzy items I used to wear.

Coming into a little money the last few years has helped; I've been able to buy better clothes again! But I still felt like something was missing. I had my "colors done" in April and I suddenly I felt like the long ago me was back. I did know what looked good on me! I was right! I may not wear glitter like I used to, but I am starting to embrace a little sparkle here and there.

And yes, all the "influencers" do seem like carbon copies of each other. I'm happy I don't have to follow them to look my best, since the colors they recommend aren't my season, but can instead follow my true colors and forge my own style

This is actually great advice especially about looking toward your heritage for style.

I'm so glad this resonated with you! I'm really curious now: what’s your heritage or background, if you don’t mind sharing? And are there any elements of that you’ve woven into your wardrobe — whether through patterns, fabrics, jewelry, or something more subtle?
